Sonny Lee Jones

Sylvania – Sonny Lee Jones, age 71, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta, GA.  He was born in Amhurst, OH to the late Arlie and Ioda Mae Jones. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He worked as a sawyer for a limestone quarry and was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Viet Nam. He also served in the Army National Guard and served in Afghanistan while on active duty. He enjoyed working outside and was a continually active man. He loved to travel and doing volunteer work with the Church.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, and Siblings, Elburn Jones, Elvie Jones, Fronnia Pearl Jones and Arlie Dale Jones. 

Survivors include: His Wife: Frankie Jeanett Hudson of Sylvania, His Children:  Jamey Lee Young and Jennifer Lynn Young, His Siblings:  Brenda Faye Morrow,  Donna Skeen, John Jones, Lana Carol Thibeault, and Tressa Ann Gibbs,  10 Grandchildren,  10 Nieces and Nephews, and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be private.  Burial will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, GA.
