NETTIE WILLIAM COUNTS WATERS

Sylvania – Nettie Waters, age 86, of Sylvania, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, November 29, 2022, at her residence with family at her side.

Nettie was born in Screven County to the late couple, John Willie Counts, Sr. & Lucile Bennett Counts on February 3, 1936. She was a homemaker and a retired retail clerk. Nettie was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Nettie was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, George Gross “G.W.” Waters; brother, J.W. Counts, Jr.; and her sisters, Margaret C. Stephens and Betty C. Wiley.

Those who will cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, William & Sabrina Waters; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry & Cindy Counts; grandchildren, Courtney Waters and Whitney & Scott Alford; great-grandchildren, Eric Nefstead, Greer Alford and Emma Alford and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Rev. Bill Kent will officiate the funeral service on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. in the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel.
