M. CAROLYN NUNNALLY

     Mary Carolyn Odom Waters Nunnally, age 98, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday afternoon, January 10, 2022, at her home with her family at her side.

     She was born in Burke County to the late James Fulwood Odom and the late Mary Pearl Oglesbee Odom on August 6, 1923. Carolyn was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church; she was a retired school bus driver and homemaker.  

     In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her first husband, A.F. Waters and her second husband, Lovell Estel “L.E.” Nunnally.

     Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, James Addison & Ann Waters, of Newnan, GA, Carol B. & Mary Waters, of Alexander, GA, Don H. Waters, of Sylvania, W. Ray & Jeannie Waters, of Macon, GA, and Franklin L. Waters, of Sylvania; her sister, Ruby O. Barefield, of Alexander, GA; her grandchildren, Ken & Brigitte Waters, Marie & Kenny Oliver, Jimmy Waters, Tyler & Brad Luquire, Kara & Daniel Gelderman, Matt & Gina Waters, Franklin Waters, Jr. & Amanda and D.J. & Fernie Waters; 17 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

     The family would like to give a special thank you to Carolyn’s caregiver, Latrelle Jenkins, and her hospice nurse, Erica Roberts.

     The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Saturday January 15, 2022, at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

     The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 15, 2022, in the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carroll Gay officiating. Burial will follow at the Lewis Family Cemetery.
