LEXIE D. ROUNTREE

     Lexie Dean Rountree, age 85, passed away on Tuesday night, January 11, 2022, at Ogeechee Hospice in Statesboro, with her family at her side. Lexie was a member of the Newington Baptist Church.

     Lexie Rountree was born in Sardis, GA to Lester Anderson and Carlene Joyner on August 22, 1936.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Rodney Rountree; her sons, Fredrick Judd Rountree and Floyd Randall “Randy” Rountree; brothers, Raymond Anderson, John “Bobby” Anderson and Mikell Anderson.

     Survivors include her son, Thomas Gordon Rountree; sisters, Exie Mae Kessler, Nancy Thomas, Peggy Healan, Martha Odom and Pat Stephenson; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

     A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, January 14, 2022, at Newington Cemetery with Rev. Jim Long officiating.

     Pallbearers: Rodney Rountree, Matthew Massey, Mark Bennett, Josh Bowles, William Thomas, Chuck Stephenson

     In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, 200 Donehoo St, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30458.

     Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
