Judy Sowell Jones

Sylvania – Judy Sowell Jones, age 59, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA. She was born in Jenkins County and was a member of McDonald Baptist Church. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Office of the District Attorney of the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit for 31 years. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her 3 beloved grandchildren. She also enjoyed crafting, DIY projects, gardening, and fishing. She will always be remembered for her contagious smile and loving heart. She was preceded in death by her brother: Franklin Sowell.

Survivors: Husband: Joseph Aubrey Jones of Sylvania; Daughters and Sons-In-Law: Ashley & Reid Edenfield of Sylvania and Hannah & Zac McLendon of Statesboro, GA; Mother: Carolyn Bragg Nesmith of Sylvania; Father: William Redell “W.R.” Sowell of Sylvania; Sister: Jean Sowell Potter of Sylvania; Grandchildren: Olivia McLendon, Abby McLendon and Conner Edenfield; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Graveside Service: Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 4:30 P.M. at McDonald Baptist Church Cemetery with the Pastor David McLendon officiating.  Burial following.

Pallbearers: Chris Lewis, David Burke, Josh Stuart, Kalyn Stuart, Dillon Stuart and Darrell Potter. Honorary Pallbearers: Joe Martin and Personnel of the Office of the District Attorney of the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit.
