Jamie Fuller Appleton, age 96, of Sylvania, and widower of Mary Ellen Wilkerson Appleton, passed away on Wednesday evening, May 31, 2023, at his home with his family at his side.

Jamie was born in Keokuk, Iowa on July 13, 1926, to the late couple. O.W. & Inez Appleton. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Jamie worked as a senior electrical engineer for Chamberlin Manufacturing in Nogales, Mexico. He also served as a missionary in Brazil for 5 years. Jamie was an inventor. Jamie enjoyed music and helping people.

In addition to his parents, Jamie was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Wilkerson Appleton and his daughter, Janelle Cooper.

Those who will cherish his memory include his daughters, Victoria Owens, Vonda Kaye, Tammy (Reuben) Aldridge, Beverly (Tim) Scott; his sons, Daniel (Katheryn) Appleton, Andrew (Christine) Appleton; 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 P.M. The funeral service will commence at 11:30 A.M. in the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Bulloch Memorial Gardens in Statesboro, GA.
