Sylvania – Howard Christopher “Chris” Bazemore, age 88, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at East Georgia Regional Hospital in Statesboro, GA. He was born in Sylvania, GA to the late Edward Lampkin & Lila Bazemore. He worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad as a yard foreman and conductor for 28 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was very interested in cars and being with his family. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his Son: Russell Alan Bazemore; Sisters: Shirley Lanier and Neva Reddick; Brother: David Bazemore.
Survivors: Wife: Peggy Rebecca Hunter Bazemore of Sylvania; Daughter: Cheryl B. Neidlinger of Sylvania; Son and Daughter-In-Law: Bubba & Mindy S. Bazemore of Charleston, SC; Sisters: Jackie B. Carpenter and Patsy B. Gill, both of Savannah, GA, and Deanna B. Weaver of Sylvania; 6 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation: Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home at 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM.
Graveside Services: Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Buck Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Carroll Gay officiating. Burial following.
Pallbearers: Grandsons and close family friend, Eric Gonya.
