Millen, GA – Grady Carroll Saxon, Sr., age 81, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at Jenkins County Medical Center in Millen, GA. He was born in Screven County to the late Frank Brown Saxon & Lillian Chance Saxon and was a member of Dry Branch Baptist Church. He worked for Planters Electric as a line foreman for 42 years, was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed gardening and in shore fishing in FL. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Sisters: Mintora McBride, Gladys Pate and Neda Looper; Brothers: Cecil Saxon, James Saxon, Alex Saxon and Infant Baby Boy Saxon.
Survivors: Wife: Mary Ann Bassett Saxon of Millen, GA; Daughter and Son-In-Law: Beth Thompson (Gailyn) of Millen, GA; Son and Daughter-In-Law: Grady Carroll “Buddy” Saxon, Jr. (Tina) of Millen, GA; Sisters: Frankie S. Adams of Savannah, GA, Myra S. Herrington of Waynesboro, GA and Jean S. Davenport of Athens, GA; Grandchildren: Mitchell Thompson (Amy), Erica Thompson, Meredith Saxon and Logan Saxon; Great-Grandchildren: Brixton Thompson, Bryce Lane and Treble Lastinger; Brother-In-Law: Glynn Bassett (Gail) of Millen, GA; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Graveside Services: Monday, February 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Dry Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Powell and Rev. Tim Fields officiating. Burial following. Visitation will be held after the services at the cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Employees of Planters Electric Membership Corporation.
Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
