Sylvania – Charlie Jackson Oliver, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at his residence in Sylvania. He was born in Screven County to the late Otis Jackson & Ernestine Heath Oliver and was a member of Harmony Methodist Church. He was retired from Torrington Company and was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. He loved spending time with his family and he also loved to fish.
Survivors: Wife: Nancy McClellan Oliver of Sylvania; Daughters and Son-In-Law: Nancy Charlene & Jerry Brown and Bonnie O. Johnson, all of Sylvania; Sons and Daughter-In-Law: Charlie J. “Jack” Oliver, Jr. and Otis Thomas & Donna Oliver, all of Sylvania; Sisters: Christine O. Newton of Hiltonia, Beatrice Oliver of Woodstock, GA and Martha Ann Owens of Sylvania; Grandchildren: Bob Bazemore, Ashley and Dusty Mullis, Lynn Kemp, Derick Johnson, Taylor Oliver and Parker Oliver; Several Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation: Friday, November 13, 2020 at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: Friday, November 13, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Karen Zeigler officiating. Burial following at Harmony Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Bob Bazemore, Stewart Hooks, Derick Johnson, Chris Newton, John McClellan and Gary Crews. Honorary Pallbearers: David Bragg and Craig Thompson.
