Betty Brant Scott

Sylvania – Betty Brant Scott, age 94, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021, at Syl-View Rehabilitation and Memory Center. She was born in Screven County, GA to the late Ernest & Willie Mae Brooker Brant. She was a homemaker and a member of Buck Creek United Methodist Church where she was the pianist, organist and choir member for many years.  She was also a member of the Buck Creek Homemakers Club, was active in the Buck Creek Farm Bureau and enjoyed cooking for church and civic functions, especially cakes.  She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband: Virgil R. Scott, Jr; Brother: Gene Brant; Sister: Anne Boddiford.

Survivors: Daughters and Sons-in-Law: Joy S. & Randy Forehand of Hiltonia, Patty Scott of Sylvania, Myra S. & Jerry Havird of Aiken, SC and Sue Webster of Sylvania; Son: Ricky Scott of Sylvania; Sister: Cindy B. Williams of Sylvania; Grandchildren: Lindsey & Fred Davis, Erin & Oliver Sanders, Bucky Whitehead, Stephanie Beasley, Devin & Candace Whitehead, Jena & Eric Tinsley, Jason & Jill Forehand, Justin & Brooke Forehand, Hosie Pierce, Jermaine & Felicia Pierce, Brandon & April Smith, Dilan Havird, Stan & Karen Riner, Chad Riner, Shane & Angela Riner and Shawn Riner; 36 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Buck Creek United Methodist Church.

Funeral Services: Thursday, August 5, 2021at 2:00 PM at Buck Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Purnell and Rev. Carroll Gay officiating. Burial following in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers: Brandon Smith, Dilan Havird, Matt Brant, Jason Forehand, Brian Rybacki and Devin Whitehead.
