BETTY THOMPSON ARITA

     Betty Thompson Arita, age 76, of Sylvania, and widow of Edwin Noboru Arita, Jr., passed away on Wednesday afternoon, February 8, 2023, at her home.

     Betty was the daughter of the late couple, Thomas Davis Thompson and Alma Frawley Thompson. She was born in Sylvania, Georgia, and was a member of the Bay Branch Baptist Church. Betty was a registered nurse for 24 years, working positions in both Savannah, GA and Atlanta, GA, and was a member of the Oncology Nurses Society.

      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Noboru Arita, Jr. and her brother, William Thompson.

     Survivors include her cousins, Marcena Brinson, Jason Barrs, Brad Kent; sister-in-law, Frances Thompson; niece, Stacey (Bryan) Czech; nephew, Matthew (Kim) Thompson; great nieces, Rebecca Thompson, Mattie Thompson, Kaylee Czech; and her great nephew, Kenneth Czech.

     Rev. Blake Hicks will officiate the memorial service on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Bay Branch Baptist Church in Sylvania, Georgia. Interment at Millen City Cemetery will follow the service.
