Mr. Wilton LaVaughn Reddick, 91, formerly of Sylvania, GA, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, in Lexington, SC, surrounded by his loving family.
Wilton was born on December 29, 1933, in Sylvania, GA to Arrie Reddick and Mozelle Boddiford Reddick. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, then after serving his country worked as a loan officer for the United States Small Business Administration. Wilton was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree. He loved sports, and having graduated from UGA he was a Georgia Bulldog fan. When he wasn’t watching Georgia he was an avid hunter and fisherman, especially deer and turkey hunting.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard “Ricky” Thomas Reddick; sister, Wanda Kelly; and a brother-in-law, Clyde Lane.
He is survived by his sons, Phillip (Leigh) Reddick, II., and Wilton Bradford (Brad) Reddick; grandchildren, Hunter Reddick, Taylor Reddick, and Nick Reddick; siblings, Jerry (Ann) Reddick, and Joann Lane; as well as a brother-in-law, Bert Kelley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Screven County Memorial Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Tim Lane officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Briar Creek Sportman Club Veterans Hunt, P.O. Box 1934, Evans, GA 30809.
Thompson Strickland Waters Funeral Home, Joiner Anderson Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.
