It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Dewayne Evans, who left this world on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on Friday, September 20th, 1963, William was a cherished resident of Sylvania, GA, where he spent his life surrounded by family and friends who loved him deeply.
William was a dedicated welder, known for his skill and craftsmanship, and a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. His commitment to his craft and his country was matched only by the love he held for his family.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Hedwig Evans, who was his guiding light throughout his life. William also leaves behind his loving children: his sons, Justin Evans and his wife Kara, and Andrew Evans; and his daughter, Sabrina Evans. He will be dearly missed by his sisters, Monica Pittman and Martha Burke, and his uncles, Terrel Evans and Leon Evans. His aunt, Judy Burke, remembers him fondly. William was a doting grandfather to Makenzie and Alyvia Evans, who brought immense joy to his life.
William was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Evans, and his brothers, Roger Evans and Hans Evans, who have surely welcomed him into their loving arms.
A man of varied interests, William had a passion for playing paintball, a legacy of fun and strategy he enjoyed sharing with his children. He was also captivated by the art of welding, finding peace and creativity in his work, and he had a keen eye for photography, capturing the beauty of everyday moments. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his mother, children, and grandchildren.Shirley Evans, Ronnie Ann and various nieces and nephews.
Details on the services will follow, allowing his friends and family to gather to celebrate the life of a man who was loved by so many.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson Strickland & Waters Funeral Home, Joiner-Anderson Chapel.
