Wanda Cave Blackburn, age 70, of Sylvania, Georgia, passed away on June 9, 2026.
Born on September 6, 1955, in Sylvania, Georgia, Wanda was a lifelong resident of the community. Wanda's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who found happiness in caring for those she loved.
For many years, Wanda was employed at Torrington, where she worked hard and formed lifelong friendships that she treasured deeply. The relationships she built during her years there remained special to her throughout her life.
Wanda enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved taking shopping trips to Goodwill in search of a special find, dining at Old Times Buffet, and taking road trips to enjoy the sights and spend time with those she loved. She had a special love for her dogs and found joy in their companionship. Wanda also enjoyed working word puzzles and anything that challenged her mind and kept her thinking. Above all else, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored and never missed an opportunity to spoil.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eleanor Cave; and her sister, Brenda Cave.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Dennis Blackburn, Sr.; her children, Lesley Joyner (Chris), Cathy Adams (Bobby), Dennis Blackburn, Jr. (Carole), and Marvin Blackburn (Melissa); her brothers, Gary Cave and Roger Cave (Janice); her grandchildren, Kimberly Blackburn (Joey), Christopher Blackburn, Kayla Oliver (Kameron), Kendall Williams (Jack), Jamie Adams (Kayley), Paige Weyhrauch (Brandon), Morgan Clements (Matt), Garrett Roberts (Veronica), Julia Dews (Gage), Hailey Adams, Dylan Robinson (Melissa), Dalton Joyner (Madalyn), and Cassidy Kile; and 26 cherished great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Thompson Strickland Waters, Joiner Anderson Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Following the service, interment will take place at Middle Ground Baptist Church Cemetery.
