Robert Leveair Gallagher

Robert "Rory" Leveair Gallagher, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, in Sylvania, GA, at the age of 68.

Robert was born on Monday, August 5th, 1957, in Erwin, NC, to the late Edward James Gallagher and Eunice E. Frawley. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Linda Gail Cecchetini, and brother, Daniel Gallagher.

Robert is survived by his three children, Logan Gallagher, James Gallagher, and Jesse Gallagher. He also leaves behind his devoted sisters, Marti Walker (John) and Cheryl Griffin (Donnie), as well as cherished grandchildren, Gavin, Lillian, and Reagan. Robert’s memory will also be treasured by several nieces and nephews.

With a deep love for his country, Robert proudly served as a Flight Engineer in the United States Navy for 23 years. His service and dedication were also exemplified through his later role as a Sheriff Deputy at the Cobb County Sheriff Department.

Robert was a man of great interests that kept his spirit lively and adventurous. He found peace in the quiet pursuit of fishing and was fascinated by the wonders of astronomy, often spending nights gazing at the stars.

Roberts wishes were to be cremated with a burial at sea service with the United States Navy.

Arrangements for Robert’s farewell have been entrusted to Thompson Strickland & Waters Funeral Home, Joiner-Anderson Chapel.
