Ricky Mauney

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ricky Mauney, a beloved father, brother, and grandfather, who departed this life on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Ricky was born on May 22, 1954, in Harris, North Carolina. He spent his final years in the warm community of Sylvania, Georgia, a place he called home.

Ricky was a dedicated machine operator at Cooper West, where he worked diligently and made lasting friendships throughout his career. His commitment to his work was equaled only by his devotion to his family and friends. Ricky also love watching the Atlanta Braves and Nascar.

Ricky was predeceased by his parents, Glenn Hicks Mauney and Vonnie Ann Mauney, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.

Left to cherish his memory are his son Ryan Mauney and daughter-in-law Jennifer, sister Rita Brinson and brother-in-law Jay, and his precious grandchildren: Riley Mauney, Charleston Mauney, Olivia Martin, and Grayson Mauney. Ricky's legacy will continue in the lives of his several nieces and nephews, whom he treasured dearly.

A graveside service will be held to honor and celebrate Ricky's life on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Screven Memorial Cemetery. This will be an opportunity for all who knew and loved Ricky to come together, share memories, and bid him farewell.

In lieu of flowers the family ask to make donations to the First Baptist Church Sylvania.
