Ottis R. McBride passed away peacefully under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Georgia surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Screven County Georgia to the late George O. & Maud McBride, he was one (1) of eleven (11) children.

Ottis loved the Lord, he faithfully served McDonald Baptist Church his entire life. 

Ottis had a long working career, retiring from BASF in 1993, and then working along side his son at McBride’s Body Shop until 2013.

He was pre-deceased by his parents and sisters, Lorine M. Thompson, Gloria M. Becton, Jewel M. Becton, Faye M. Montgomery, & brother Arnold McBride.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Jeanette L. McBride and children Deborah McBride, Nancy M. (Jerry) Jones & Michael (Kellie) McBride.

Grandchildren, Tabatha (Gregg) Hoogstad, Cody Taylor, Philip Harrison, IV., Jennifer (Bradley) Clarke, Jordan (Harvey) Cryder, Jarrett (Caitlin) McBride, Chris (Alexis) Pye, and Emily (Brandon) Lyons.

Great-grandchildren, Ren Brower, Case Clarke, Gadson McBride, Josie McBride, Harper Pye, Dallas Pye, Aikman Pye, and Brody Lyons.

Sisters, Barbara M. Speering, Gaile M. Ramsey & Wanda McBride. Brothers, Alton McBride & Jerry McBride, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Gregg Hoogstad, Jarrett McBride, Philip Harrison, Harvey Cryder, Ren Brower, and Case Clarke.

Visitation will be held at McDonald Baptist Church in Sylvania, Georgia on Saturday July 26, 2025 at 10:00 AM. The funeral will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Horace Lariscy officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery immediately following the service.

The family would like to thank the Staff at Optim Medical Center – Sylvania, Ogeechee Area Hospice – Statesboro, Georgia and especially Dr. Sherma Peter and her staff at Optim Primary Care – Sylvania.
