Mary Lucy (Friese) Nicholson

Sylvania – Mary Lucy Friese Nicholson, age 73, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at East Georgia Regional Hospital in Statesboro. She was born in Screven County the late Virge Wade & Nevada Griner Friese. She was a retired waitress, having worked at Walls Diner for many years and was a member of Bay Branch Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Friese, Jimmy Friese and Henry Friese.

Survivors: Husband: John William “Bill” Nicholson of Sylvania; Brothers and Sisters-In-Law: Virgil “Shorty” Friese of Millen, GA, Tom & Vita Friese of Jesup, GA, Edward Friese and Jerry & Fannie Friese, all of Sylvania; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Blake Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Toby Bragg, James Bragg, John Henry Walls, John Willie Rosier, Kerry Mallard and Gary Walls, Jr.. Honorary Pallbearers: Bay Branch Baptist Church Adult Sunday School Class, Workers at Walls Diner and the Walls Coffee Club.
