Leslie Harrison Collins, Jr., born on October 25, 1960, passed away on May 18, 2026, at the age of 65.
Leslie dedicated many years of service to the Georgia Department of Transportation, where he worked as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and the relationships he built throughout his career.
Leslie was also a lifelong lover of sports and competition. As a young high school athlete, he was recruited to play all sports at Buckhead Academy, beginning a lifetime passion for athletics. He continued that love through playing softball, coaching his children’s teams, and umpiring for many years. He was also a devoted Georgia Tech fan who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. Some of his favorite moments were spent talking on the phone with his brother and sister, and relaxing with his special friend, Carla, while watching Westerns together. Above all else, Leslie treasured being a father and grandfather.
He is survived by his sons, Leslie Harrison Collins, III (Cala) and John Christopher Collins (Jessica); his partner and best friend, Carla Brown, and her children, Tyler Brown and LuAnn Brown; the mother of his children, Tonya Collins; his sister, Connie Collins Lanier (Stan); his brother, Rodney Lewis Collins (Beth); and his beloved grandchildren, Lauren Kate Collins, Mathew Cox, Jase Johnson, and Jayla Brown.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Cory Collins (Jenny Kay), Ryan Collins (Lauren), Rhett Lanier, Ashton Usry (Phillip), and Haley Johnson (Evan), along with a number of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Michael Collins; his mother, Camilla B. Collins; and his father, Leslie Harrison Collins, Sr..
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Rocky Ford Baptist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Wayne Bragg will officiate.
Interment will follow at Rocky Ford Cemetery.
