SYLVANIA

Kevin Dean Smith, 32, of Sylvania, Georgia, departed this world unexpectedly on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Born on November 22, 1993, at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Kevin grew up in Conyers, Georgia. He was the son of Cindy Lariscy Smith and the late Darrell Gene Smith.

Kevin was kindhearted and found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including fishing, spending time outdoors, and appreciating nature. He enjoyed being with family without needing to be the center of attention, often content to listen and share in their company. Known for his keen wit and sense of humor, Kevin could be funny in his own quiet, unexpected way and brought laughter to those around him. He also valued quiet time alone and the peace of solitude. Kevin loved his brothers, nephew, cousins, and animals, especially German shepherds. Though he was not always one to say much, his gentle, caring nature was evident to those who knew him.

Kevin will be remembered for his quiet spirit, keen wit, sense of humor, love of family, and the meaningful presence he brought to the lives of others. His time was far too short, but his memory will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Gene Smith.

He is survived by his mother, Cindy Lariscy Smith; two brothers, Thomas Ryan Smith (Jordan) and Johnathon Patrick Smith (Debora); maternal grandparents, Ray and Mary Lariscy; nephew, Luca Smith; nieces, Ryleigh, Trinity and Gracie Skelton-Smit; aunts and uncles, Vicky and Ashley Patrick, Kay and Gary Crews, Guy and Sharon Puryear of California, and Darlene and Mike Coop of California; along with numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Screven Memorial Cemetery, Wednesday October 28, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., with Terry Joiner officiating.

Thompson-Strickland-Waters, Joiner Anderson Chapel of Sylvania is in charge of arrangements.
