Katherine McClellan Weeks

Mrs. Katherine McClellan Weeks, 90, of Sylvania, Georgia, passed away at Ogeechee Area Hospice on August 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Katherine was born on October 10, 1934, in Burke County, to Tommy McClellan and Emma Lee Brooks McClellan. She worked in management of JCPenney in Statesboro, Georgia until her retirement. Katherine loved going to the beach, but most of all she loved her family and Jesus. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sylvania, and a member of Faith Sunday School Class. Katherine also was active in the WMU, Screven County Garden Club, the Hospital Auxiliary, and the Screven County Home Makers Club. She also was a volunteer at the Soda Shop Gallery in Sylvania, the Red Cross, and at the Screven County Chamber of Commerce.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, George Robert Weeks, Sr., daughter, Kathy Murphy, son-in-law, Charles Fox, Jr., and a brother, Thomas Ellis McClellan.

She is survived by her children, Sandra W. Fox, of Springfield, GA, Brenda W. (David) Rawlins, of Statesboro, GA, George R. (Leanne) Weeks, II., of Sylvania, GA, grandchildren, Charles (Lindsay) Fox, III., Capricia Fox, Thomas Fox, Kyle (Abby) Rawlins, Brandon Murphy, Dusty (Christy) Jenkins, and Correy Walker, great-grandchildren, Victoria Brown, Ben Westbook, Siddaleigh Jenkins, Bowen Jenkins, and Leanna Jenkins, and a great-great grandchild, Olivia Brown, a son-in-law, David Murphy, of Sylvania, GA, and a sister, Linda (Vernon) Elliott, of Savannah, GA, sisters-in-law, Betty Long and Dorothy Wilkes, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Active Pallbearers will be David Murphy, Brandon Murphy, Ronnie Gay, Dusty Jenkins, Wyatt Morgan, and Jay Brinson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Faith Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson Strickland Waters Funeral Home, Joiner Anderson Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Sylvania with Dr. Rev. Charlie Cooper officiating.

Interment will be held at Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
