Judith “Judy” Odom Hill, age 84, passed away on March 23, 2026.
Judy was born on December 4, 1941. She graduated from Screven County High School in 1959 and went on to live a life defined by dedication to her family, her work, and her community.
Above all, Judy was a hardworking wife and mother who was always there for her family. Her love and devotion were constant, and she found her greatest joy in caring for those closest to her. Gardening was her solace, and she took great pride in keeping her yard beautifully landscaped with flowers, creating a space of peace and beauty for all to enjoy.
Judy and her family lived for many years in Savannah, where they were faithful members of First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth for 17 years. After returning to her hometown of Screven County, she became deeply involved in Hiltonia Baptist Church, where she was a devoted member who could always be found whenever the church doors were open.
She retired from the City of Sylvania, where she served as City Clerk Treasurer, and was also an active member of the Screven County Chamber of Commerce. Judy had a passion for health and community, teaching aerobics for 25 years and faithfully collecting for the Heart Fund each year.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Hill; her son, Randy Hill; her parents, H.C. and Lessie Odom; and her sister, Barbara Reddick.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Michele Hill of Grovetown, and her precious pug, Diamondz, whom she dearly loved.
Judy lived a full and meaningful life and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held from 1:00pm ~ 2:00pm on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Thompson-Strickland-Waters, Joiner Anderson Chapel. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00pm in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Darell Young officiating.
Interment will take place at Screven Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at MichaelJFox.org in honor of Judy’s life and legacy.
