SYLVANIA

John Paul "Pete" Lee , age 77, of Sylvania, passed away on Saturday evening, December 27, 2025, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

He was born in Millen, Georgia to Eelie Mack Lee and Thelma Elizabeth Rosier Lee. John Paul worked as a carpenter, loved hunting & fishing and spending time out in nature. John Paul was called by many names: Pete, Daddy, Papa and "J". He often clowned around with his kids, cutting up, aggravating his wife, DiAnne, and snickering about it. He made sure his children knew that he loved them, he played with them, was very protective of them, and sometimes made them do the "turkey trot." Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, DiAnne Farmer Lee; grandson, Gregory Roald Austin II, brothers, Joe Eelie Lee, Jerry Lee, Ryan Lee and Bryan Lee.

Those who will cherish his memory include his daughters, Beth Lee Reddick (Chris), Paula Lee Wilkes (Allen) and Amanda Gentry; son, John Paul Lee II (Marianne); sisters, Brenda Dickerson (Harold), Elaine Blocker, and Cathy Lee; grandchildren, Brandi Zelt (Jamie Parrish), Sasha Windham, Matthew Hutcheson, Johnathan Austin, Walker Austin (Alexis), John Paul Lee III, Melanie Dianne Lee, Michelle Scott (Chris); great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Michael, Hunter, Johnna, Brian, Samuel, Weston, and Kinsley; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Lee, Cindy Lee, and Mary Ann & Wayne Smoak; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service at 11:00 A.M., on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Jackson Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Ralph Dixon officiating. The family will greet loved ones after the service.
