John D. Austin

Sylvania, GA – John Dorsey Austin, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, East Georgia Regional Hospital in Statesboro, GA.  He was born in Screven County to the Beasley & Hattie Mae Lee Austin.  He was an Evangelist and a carpenter. He was a member of the Pentecostal Apostolic Church.

Survivors: Wife: Margie A. Fowler Austin of Sylvania; Daughter and Son-In-Law: Melanie Louise & Bill Wilson of Sylvania; Sons and Daughter-In-Law: Rex Allen & Anna Austin and John Tracy Austin, all of Sylvania; Sisters and Brother-In-Law: Heiden A. Myers of Sylvania and Geraldine & Exley Weaver of Newington, GA; Brothers and Sisters-In-Law: Elbert & Shelia Austin of Savannah, GA, Gene & Darleen Austin and Gerald & Mickey Austin, all of Newington, GA; 10 Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren,  Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Friday, November 15, 2019 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 P.M at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Moye officiating.  Burial following at Newington City Cemetery in Newington, GA.

Pallbearers:  Mitchall Austin, Phillip Austin, Joshua Austin, Bill Wilson, Greg Austin and John Austin.
