Janet Boyd Rackley

Mrs. Myrtle Janet Boyd Rackley, 85, of Metter, Georgia, passed away at her residence on Monday, July 14, 2025.

Janet was born in Screven County on April 21,1940 to the late Albert Boyd and Peggy Kemp Boyd. She was a graduate of the Screven County High School, then she worked as a seamstress at Whitestag in Sylvania. Janet enjoyed dancing, fishing, and crabbing with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Randall Rackley.

She is survived by her sons, Tommy Graham, of Newington, GA, Timmy (Marcy) Graham, of Kildare, GA, Randall (Meagen) Rackley, of Texarkana, TX, and Neil Rackley, of Spring City, TN; stepsons, Jimmy Rackley, of Savannah, GA, and Rex (Cindy) Rackley, of Pooler, GA; brother, Donnie (Lawanda) Boyd, of Waynesboro, GA; 7 grandsons, and 3 great-grandsons; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her two close friends, Jeraleene Finch and Brenda Godbee.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Screven County Memorial Cemetery with Jose Velasquez officiating.
