Horace N Cowart

Horace Nathaniel Cowart, age 86, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Bulloch County, GA to the late Roy Nathaniel Cowart and Pearl Thompson Cowart. He served in the Army and then worked as a mechanic for McClean Trucking and a crew supervisor for Georgia DOT, displaying wonderful problem-solving skills. He was a member of Hurst Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved his family and would drop what he was doing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed fishing and tinkering on anything and everything he thought he could fix. Horace is preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice Faye Cowart, his brothers, Earl and Dean, and his sisters Ann and Ruby. He is survived by his daughter and son-In-Law,  Sharon and Thomas Rollins, Sr. of Sylvania; his son and daughter-in-law, Steven N., Sr. and Penny Cowart of Sylvania; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service for Mr. Cowart will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Hurst Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Greg Davis and Rev. Scott Krug officiating.
