Treshman Harrell "Harrell" Fries, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
Harrell was a lifelong resident of Screven County and the owner of Fries Pallet and Wood Products, Inc. Through hard work, honesty, and dedication, he built a respected business and earned the admiration of those who knew him.
Harrell was a faithful member of the First Christian Church of Sylvania, Georgia. His deep Christian faith was evident in the way he lived and served others. For many years, he faithfully led worship services at Pineview Nursing Home, bringing comfort, encouragement, and the message of God's love to countless residents.
Harrell was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Walter Fries, and his beloved son, Treshman James Fries.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Geneva L. Fries; his son, Kenneth C. Fries; his grandsons, Hunter Fries of Atlanta, Georgia, and R. J. Fries of Hartwell, Georgia; his granddaughter, Alicia Fries of Hartwell, Georgia; his brother, Raymond W. Fries (Vickie) of Evans, Georgia; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Harrell will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love for his family, his strong work ethic, and his servant's heart. Whether through his business, his church, or his ministry to the residents of Pineview Nursing Home, he touched countless lives with kindness, compassion, humility, and quiet strength. His legacy of faith, service, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home, Joiner Anderson Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor George Pevey and Rev. Wes Withrow officiating. Interment will follow at Screven Memorial Cemetery.
