Dan Edward Tuten, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.

Born on September 8, 1943, in Screven County, Dan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and man of strong faith. He will be remembered for his steady character, kind heart, and lifelong dedication to his family, church, and work.

Dan worked as a lineman for 43 years with Local #222 in Florida. He also faithfully served as a deacon at Farmdale Baptist Church, where he dedicated his time to his church family and his faith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joy E. Tuten of Sylvania; his children, Michelle Martin (Eddie), Daniel Tuten (Tammy), Harold Tuten (Lauren), Thomas Harper III (Kristine), and Todd Harper (Sandy); grandchildren, Little Eddie, Alicia, Tommy, Little Dan, Ryan, Joshua, Kristopher, Thomas IV, Dalton, Katrina, and Kitana; one great-grandchild, Blayen; and siblings, Freddie Tuten (Michelle), Patricia Jackson (Neil), and Harriett Jones (Ron).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Dorothy Tuten; his stepmother, Evelyn Tuten; and his uncle who helped raise him, Walter Tuten.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Farmdale Baptist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
