Charles Edwin Rooks

Sylvania – Charles Edwin Rooks, age 72, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Screven County to the late James E. & Mary Louise Mock Rooks. He was a member of Sylvania First United Methodist Church and was retired from BASF and working as a bailiff of the Screven County Courts. He loved playing golf and vacationing with and spending time with his family. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife: Billie Jean Pierce Rooks.

Survivors: Daughter: Kristi Rooks Boles of Monroe, GA; Son and Daughter-in-Law: Jud & Amber Rooks of Statesboro, GA; Brother: James Rooks of Snellville, GA; Sister-In-Law and Brother-In-Law: Patricia P. & Brett Darr of Sylvania; Grandchildren: Madison Boles and Mallory Boles, both of Monroe, GA, Andrew Gary, William Gary, Emerson Rooks, and Rhys Rooks, all of Statesboro, GA; Nephew: Jason Rooks.

Visitation: Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Memorial Services: Sunday, February 21, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dorsia Atkinson officiating.

Those attending the visitation and service are asked to please wear a mask and observe social distancing.
