Charles Leo Gillespie, IV

Charles "Charlie" Leo Gillespie IV, 55, of Sylvania, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026.

Born on July 18, 1970, in Camden, New Jersey, Charlie was the son of John Thomas Gillespie and Elaine Kay Gillespie. He made Sylvania his home, where he became known throughout the community for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Charlie worked as a custom cabinet maker as well as a sales associate at Ace Hardware in Sylvania.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Gillespie and Elaine “Kay” Darlene.

He is survived by his devoted life partner, Laurie Ann Mahoney; his children, John Thomas Gillespie, Miranda Darlene Gillespie, and Robert Charles Gillespie; along with many extended family members and countless friends.

Charlie will be remembered for his warm smile, generous spirit, and the helping hand he was always willing to offer.

A celebration of life will be held by the family.
