Carol Scott

     "Carol" Jean Scott, of Sylvania, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia.

      Carol was born on October 29, 1943, to the late J. D. and Myra Scott. After Graduating from SCHS, she attended Draughn's Business College (South College), While at school, she was crowned Miss Savannah of 1963 and competed in the Miss Georgia Pageant of the same year.

     She began her work career in Savannah, returning to Sylvania, and working at the Torrington Corporation. Later she would work and retire as Senior Materials Buyer at Gulfstream Aerospace.

      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jackie Austin; Brothers, David Scott, and Jimmy Scott; and nephew Mitchell Austin.

      Those who will cherish her memory include her brother, Calvin Scott and his wife Nancy; Nephews, Dewayne Austin, Brian Scott and his wife Becky, Brice Scott and his wife Jenn, Jason Scott and his wife Echo; Niece, Jennifer Bragg; sister-in-law, Linda Scott; several great nieces and nephews, and special friend Floyd Williams.

      Pallbearers include Brian Scott, Brice Scott, Bryant Scott, Bryson Scott, Hayden Scott, and Dewayne Austin.

      The family will receive friends on Monday, January 13, 2025 from 3-4 PM for visitation at Thompson Strickland Waters Funeral Home in Sylvania.

     A Graveside Service will follow at Screven Memorial Cemetery.
