Carl Dean "Rooster" Cannon

Carl Dean "Rooster" Cannon, 73, passed away on January 22, 2026, in Sylvania, Georgia. Born on October 4, 1952, in St. Augustine, Florida, Carl lived a life rooted in the outdoors and grounded in family.

Carl was the beloved husband of Debbi Stansbury-Baldwin. He was a devoted father to Jamie Russell, Jason Cannon, and Erin Vajo. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Caleb Russell, Caitlyn Russell, Ethan Russell, Braden Russell, Kai Russell, Trey Russell, Olivia Grace Russell, Lance Cannon, Tony and Samara Putterbaugh as well as his great grandson: Sawyer Joseph Russell

He is also remembered by his sister Patricia Doyle and brother Kimbo Cannon. He will also be remembered by Ricky Lewis, his best friend and partner in crime for over 20 years.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Jeweldene and Harlan Cannon, as well as his brothers Troy Cannon, Calvin Cannon, Dale Cannon, and Travis Cannon.

Known affectionately as “Rooster,” Carl had a deep passion for the outdoors fishing and hunting. Carl embraced these moments with enthusiasm and skill. You could find him outside in the evenings with his glass of crown and coke and Marlboro enjoying life.

His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
