Carey Richard Murray

Carey Richard Murray passed away on October 24, 2026 at his home after a long illness. Carey was born on October 2,1952 and was a graduate of Screven County High School. In his younger years he loved hunting, fishing, fast boats, cars, and camping, but his main love was his family.

Carey is preceded in death by his parents Dudley and Ellen Murray, his sisters Linda Murray and Marilyn Callaham and a daughter April Joy Murray. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Lynn Murray, a son Chad Murray (Jean), a daughter Christy Porter (Clint), grandchildren Dallas Owens, Carli Hodges, and Makynna Odom. Great Grandchildren Maisyn Owens, and John Owens Hodges. His protector Cocoa and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Thompson Strickland Waters, Joiner Anderson Chapel with a Visitation from 10:00-11:00 A.M..
