Billie Collins McMillan

Mrs. Billie Collins McMillan, age 90, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026.

Mrs. McMillan was born on August 10, 1935 in Abbeville, Georgia the oldest of 6 children born to the late Alton E. Oaks, Sr. and the late Willie L. Clark Oakes.

A loving wife, mother, and mee-mee, she was a member of Middleground Baptist Church in Sylvania, GA. She loved and served the Lord for many years, from rocking the babies in the nursery to teaching the adult ladies Messenger Class at Chevis Oaks Baptist for over 20 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Joe H. Collins, Sr.; an infant daughter, Gail; her youngest son, Jimmy Collins; infant great grandson, Jesse Emory Collins, III; a step daughter-in-law, Barbara Ann McMillan.

Survivors include her second husband, Lenward DeVaud McMillan, Sr.; sons, Joe Collins, Jr. (Annette), Jesse Collins, Sr. (Brenda), Paul Collins (Blenda); daughter, Carol Blocker (Gary); six grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.

Also surviving are stepchildren, Lenward DeVaud McMillan Jr., Connie Diane McMillan, Angie McMillan Steinhaus (Craig); seven step grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren; and precious, loving, caregiver, Doreen Wallace.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406).

With Rev. Dr. Charlie Cooper and Donald McCullough officiating.

Interment will follow in Lower Lott's Creek Church Cemetery in Bulloch County.

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
