Sylvania – Beverly Jean Thompson Friese, age 81, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA. She was born in Screven County to the late Lary Ruben “Buck” & Vetta Weaver Thompson. She was retired from Torrington Co. where she worked as an inspector and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery for 27 years. She was also a member of the Women’s Missionary Union. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Alton Thompson and Heyward Thompson.
Survivors: Husband: Edward Friese of Sylvania; Daughter and Son-In-Law: Jean L. & Tommy Ward of Sylvania; Son: F.T. Lariscy of Statesboro, GA; Step-Son: Wayne Friese of Sylvania; Sister and Brother-In-Law: Jeanenne & Jimmy Scott of Sylvania; Grandchildren: Adam (Bailey) Lariscy, Breanna Lariscy, Samantha Lariscy, Michelle Friese, Heather Friese and Marty Friese; 7 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation: Monday, March 18, 2019, at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: Monday, March 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Wheeler and Rev. Chad Wall officiating. Burial following at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Lary Thompson, Stewart Thompson, Ryan Reddick, Charles Scott, Kirk Scott, Craig Thompson and Adam Lariscy. Honorary Pallbearers: Senior Sunday School Class at Friendship Baptist Church and the WMU Ladies.
