LARRY "DJ" DEAN JOHNS, JR. 

Larry Dean “DJ” Johns, Jr., age 58, of Augusta, passed away on Saturday morning at 4:13 a.m. August 13, 2022, at Augusta University Medical Center-Richmond.

DJ was born July 17, 1964, to Larry Dean Johns, Sr. and Faye Boone Johns in Jacksonville, FL. He was a commercial painter and moonlighted as a skilled musician and in many genres, with the ability to play multiple instruments including the piano, keyboard, guitar, banjo and fiddle.  He meant the world to family and friends. They are thankful that he was surrounded with those that he loved in his final moments and was at peace. He loved so many people and loved to make them smile however he could. Music was his passion, and with that he was always willing to sing a song for any occasion. He loved his family, as they all loved him. The stories of DJ and his exploits could go on for days, and with those we will always remember him. The family would like to bless and thank everyone for their support, as it has truly been a blessing to have so much love during this time.

In addition to his parents, Larry is survived by his daughter and son in law, Kristina & Jakob Harrison of Belvedere, S.C. and son, Austin Johns of Eureka, SD.

The family will gather to remember DJ, Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 4:00 P.M. at Mercy Ministry located at: 2034 Broad St. (3025) Augusta, GA 30904 and come together Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 2:00 P.M., at The Church of God of Prophecy located at: 1862 Fouraker Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32221
