Shelvie Jean Becton Skinner

Sylvania, GA – Shelvie Jean Becton Skinner, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA. She was born in Jenkins County, GA to the late Arthur & Alice Cowart Becton and was a homemaker, as well as a floral designer. She was a member of Big Horse Creek Baptist Church and she also attended Millen Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Anita Tinley Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Millen Garden Club and Millen Women’s Club.  Besides her parents, he was preceded in death by her Husband: Cecil Wane Skinner; Siblings: Robert Becton, James Becton, Johnny Becton, Otis Becton, Belle B. Sherrod, Ruth B. Williams, Dorris B. Young and Pearl B. Myers.

Survivors: Daughter and Son-In-Law: Alisa S. & Don Burke of Millen, GA; Son and Daughter-In-Law: Waine & Connie Skinner of Vidalia, GA; Brothers and Sisters-In-Law: Rudolph & Jeanette Becton and Rudine & Sandy Becton, all of Millen, GA; Grandchildren: Jason & Sydney Skinner, Jacob Burke, Sara Burke and Kaitlyn Skinner; Sisters-In-Law: Bonnie Becton and Jill Becton; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Friday, December 27, 2019 at 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Millen Baptist Church.

Funeral Services: Friday, December 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Millen Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Dennis, Rev. Rudine Becton and Rev. Tommy Pullium officiating.  Burial following at Millen City Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Rodney Becton, Johnny Becton, Tim Becton, Tyler Becton, Tyler Kirkland and Cam Wiggins.  Honorary Pallbearers: Members of the Anita Tinley Sunday School Class, Millen Garden Club, Millen Women’s Club, Joe & Claudette Sasser, Julian & Diane Wade, Dave Waters, Irene Dickey, Daryl & Margaret Clifton, Bubba Small, Robert Oglesby Linda Pittman, Beverly Poole, Marilyn Knight and Bobbie Newton.
